You may have questions about COVID-19 Vaccine exemptions as universities and employers are beginning to require vaccination. A visit with a provider will be necessary to determine if an exemption is appropriate. A provider may determine that an exemption is not warranted after review. Please know that we will only provide vaccine exemptions for patients with a medical diagnosis to support this, such as:

• severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) after a previous dose of COVID-19 vaccine or to a component of the COVID-19 vaccine
• immediate (within 4 hours) allergic reaction of any severity to a previous dose of of COVID-19 vaccine or known (diagnosed) allergy to a component of the COVID-19 vaccine

Patients with allergies to food, venom, environmental triggers or latex will not be eligible for an exemption. Included here are links to information specific to vaccine considerations for people with allergies and a summary of considerations and contraindications to the COVID-19 vaccine.
