The Food Allergy Center of Excellence (FACE) was created to provide accurate diagnosis and management of food allergies. This service is free and open to the entire community. No registration is required.
The diagnosis of food allergies can be complicated, and requires specialized testing and interpretation of results by physicians and staff specifically trained in allergy. At Grand Rapids Allergy, we are committed to providing you with a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of food allergies. We have three Medical Doctors board-certified in Allergy, three clinical Nurse Practitioners, a Registered Dietitian, and a staff of Registered Nurses dedicated to deliver best practice care for your food allergies. We are also committed to community outreach and provide free education to schools and daycare facilities.
We understand that being diagnosed with a food allergy can make quite an impact on your life. Grocery shopping becomes more time consuming, and attending social events or school can become a source of considerable anxiety. For these reasons, Grand Rapids Allergy will be coordinating and hosting quarterly support group meetings at which guest speakers will share information regarding food allergy. A lending library is also available with books, literature, and videos for check-out. By establishing a support group, we hope to decrease some of the stress and anxiety associated with living with food allergies. The goal of this group is to develop a parent/patient-driven support system that can allow for networking between families, sharing of recipes, information and experiences, and more.
Food allergies, as well as allergy in general, have become more common in the United States. By establishing a Center of Excellence, we commit to providing you and your family with a comprehensive treatment plan and the highest standard of care.
